As part of this management service NBS also advises customers on the best practices with regard to broaching procedures and operations.

Many customers have taken advantage of this management advisory service and operate a system whereby they have a number of identical broaching tools, each with a defined run length.

At the completion of its run length the tool is replaced and returned to NBS for regrinding/refurbishment.

Customers have found that specifying a fixed run length for each individual tool provides a cost affective broaching procedure, ensuring that valuable man/machine hours are not lost.

Another function of NBS's broach tool management service is the repair of broaching tools, for example, the rebuilding of broken teeth. Also, the rebuilding of broken pull/tail ends and the repair of broach tools that have been completely broken.
